BeatSprout is developed and published by Aaron Sedna.
BeatSprout is a music maker and rhythm game for children ages 6–12. Core music creation, games, twenty bands, saved rhythms, and song arrangements work offline without an account or purchase. Optional advertising is off until enabled through the grown-up controls.
This policy describes the upcoming version 1.1.0 update. The currently available version 1.0.1 closed test does not include advertising or in-app purchases.
Information stored on the device
BeatSprout stores rhythms, named songs and sections, game results, stars, concert tickets, settings, accessibility preferences, daily play-limit usage, advertising choices, and the last confirmed ad-removal status in Android app-private storage. These creations and game results are not uploaded to an aaronsedna server. Android backup or device transfer may copy eligible local data according to the family's device and Google account settings; the developer does not receive that backup.
Optional advertising and privacy choices
A grown-up can enable advertising from Settings. The app uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), with child-directed and under-age-of-consent treatment, non-personalized ad requests, and the strictest G content rating. These settings apply to everyone, including when a grown-up uses the controls. BeatSprout does not request or transmit the Android advertising identifier. There is no interest-based advertising or remarketing.
Ads need a network connection. Occasional full-screen ads may appear after completed games; they do not interrupt music creation or an active game. A grown-up may choose a rewarded ad for 30 minutes without automatic ads. Watching an ad is optional and does not unlock essential play, bands, saved work, or game progress. Advertising can be disabled again in the grown-up controls. A valid Remove Ads purchase also suppresses all advertising. There are no subscriptions.
When the advertising services are active, Google may collect and share technical information such as IP address and general location inferred from it, ad and app interactions, device and operating-system information, diagnostics, and other identifiers permitted by the child-directed configuration. These services use data for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. Google’s User Messaging Platform handles available consent and privacy choices before ad requests. The app does not operate its own analytics or advertising profile service.
Google’s advertising communications use encrypted transport. Information handled by Google is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and retained according to Google's policies. Disabling future advertising does not delete records already held by Google.
Optional Remove Ads purchase
A grown-up may make a one-time Remove Ads purchase through Google Play. It removes advertising permanently for the purchasing Google Play account while the purchase remains valid. All bands, games and music-making features remain free. Restore purchases in grown-up settings checks ownership on the same Google Play account, including eligible previous Family Upgrade purchases. Purchasing and restoring need a connection. The Google-signed purchase receipt used to retain confirmed ad removal offline is stored in app-private storage excluded from Android backups. A successful ownership check may remove the entitlement if the purchase has been refunded or revoked.
Google Play processes checkout and payment information. BeatSprout does not receive your full payment-card details. The app exchanges purchase information with Google Play, including product identifiers, purchase tokens, purchase state and acknowledgement status, to complete a purchase and restore ad removal. This information is used for purchase fulfilment and fraud prevention; it is not used to personalize advertising. BeatSprout does not operate its own payment server or upload your music or game progress as part of a purchase. Google handles its transaction records under its own privacy and retention policies.
Performance videos and sharing
BeatSprout can create a performance video offline from bundled artwork and instrument sounds. It does not record the screen, microphone, camera, or surrounding people. The generated video includes the song and section names entered in the app. Exported previews are held temporarily in the app's cache; recent previews are retained within a storage limit.
Save video and Share require a grown-up question before opening Android’s document picker or share sheet. The app reminds families not to share private information. A family chooses the destination and any recipient. BeatSprout has no public feed, chat, profiles, in-app recipients, or automatic uploads. A chosen destination app or cloud provider controls any subsequent storage or sharing under its own policy. The app does not request broad access to photos, videos, or other files.
Children’s privacy and device access
The grown-up question is intended to involve a parent or guardian; it is not identity verification. The app does not ask for a child's name, contact details, age, account, precise location, contacts, camera, or microphone access. Optional device motion sensors animate the performers while the stage is visible; those readings are not recorded or uploaded.
Deletion and privacy requests
Clear app storage in Android settings or uninstall BeatSprout to remove local app data. Copies saved outside the app or sent to another app must be deleted at that destination. Device backups are managed through Android and Google account settings. There is no aaronsedna game account or server profile to delete. Clearing app data does not delete Google Play transaction records or cancel a valid one-time purchase; reconnect with the same Google Play account to restore it.
For information processed by Google, use Google's privacy controls or contact Google. You may also contact support@aaronsedna.com with a privacy question or deletion request. Information you choose to include in a support email is used to answer your request. Please avoid including a child's personal information.
Changes
Changes to app data practices will be reflected in this policy and the Google Play Data Safety declaration before the affected release is published.
